Monsterr Universe Abridged

The gods have left mankind. Their absence has left humanity humble in their understanding of the universe. But also, humans became more knowledgeable than ever before. They've learned how to control the atom and harness its power. They've learned to collect data on every star in the galaxy, mapped their own planet, and developed many more impressive scientific marvels. They've found a way to tame the Earth and to live on it in harmony. For all of Earth's existence, The birthplace of humanity is a shining beacon of scientific excellence. However, Not long after, humanity has realized a new dawn of scientific advancement. Mankind has descended into savagery. The Earth began to wither away from overpopulation and resource depletion.

The planet was in desperate straits by the mid-21st century. Human beings were polluting the Earth into irreparable ruin. The World endured a series of devastating natural disasters. The burning forests, the boiling ocean, the air pollution spreading across continents. Humanity clung to life against the Earth's elements, but they were no match for Mother Nature.

In the battle for survival on Earth, machines and men fought and died side by side in a desperate struggle. The World was being consumed by flames of war, as factories producing the ultimate weapon destroying themselves to bring down one another. Those who survived the battles could only beg over the rubble of their dead gods crumbled within their power plants and factories.

Despite their tendency to be stubbornly resistant to change, the most economically advanced nations are willing to work with other countries. And this is where they finally reach the point where the involvement of corporations becomes necessary. Without corporate funding for research and development, we would be unable to explore potential future technologies and discoveries that could be invaluable in shaping the world of tomorrow.

These companies have sent out space expeditions to explore the solar neighborhood's far-flung worlds. Over time, it became clear that they would one day need to expand their reach even further. So they started sending out expeditions to nearby planets, starting with their moon, their closest celestial neighbor. But this was not enough; the Earth was becoming more inhospitable with each passing generation, and by the turn of the late-twenty-first century, earth had degenerated into a literal hell incapable of supporting any form of advanced existence. Even as the World's economy fell into a crisis and funding became scarce, while the quality of research continued to increase. The funds earmarked for research grew increasingly meager as more corporations began to build their research division.

These corporations are known as "C.O.R.E. (Confederation of orbital renaissance & evolution) corporations," these are commercial enterprises that maintain and promote humanity's expansion into space. The Odin Project, a coalition of brilliant minds with the backing of many high-profile companies, The project has long been lauded for its success in space exploration, genetic engineering and robotics. These efforts has been instrumental in saving the humanity. As a result, garnering interest from research firms and the commercial sphere. Soon, They began experimenting with genetic engineering to avoid the high costs of terra-forming new planets for settlement. They continued to develop their ideas of moving the human population from the moon to Mars.

Although their work was eventually successful. A devastating accident at a lunar research facility in 2093 ad. The incident resulted in more than $100 billion worth of damages and prompted other companies that had been working on space travel to take a different approach and more practical strategies for addressing both the hostile environments of Earth and Mars. As interplanetary colonization progressed, few companies were able to establish colonies on Mars. The ones that did were those that had well-funded programs and research departments. Although a huge milestone. The initial plans to establish self-sustainable colonies on the Red Planet have been a failure. So the C.O.R.E. companies started to focus on developing "The Scipio (Silicon-carbide internal protection interface & overlay) Suit Project" a technology meant to enhance the way of living the Martian atmosphere and weather.

But all of this would change in December of 2104. Capitol Atlas, a Biotech corporation, announced the first successful genetically engineered being. This distinctly animalistic hybrid of feline and reptilian features is called the nt1, also known as the martian genotype. This genome type is designed to not only survive the freezing temperature and crushing dust storms of the Red Planet but also be built to function nominally in an environment with little to no protection from the sun's radiation.

The martian genotype would retain humankind's intelligence, basic motor functions, and basic physical abilities. The Critics of genetic modification found the Martian genotype as an affront defiance to nature and the human image. Moreover, despite the certain assurances of the genomes' practicality and usefulness, critics argued that the new genetically modified humans would face a life filled with hardship in the New World, and many opponents insisted on a moratorium on testing. Only a small fraction of the planet's population was ready to make the immediate transition to living on Mars. Fewer than one in ten people anticipated having children on Mars, and even fewer would consider genetically modifying their offspring.

This will change remarkably over the next decade; genetic engineering of embryos is a rapidly developing field and will soon be made available to the general public at a low cost. Because of the Martian genotype's ability to adapt to extreme heat, cold, high doses of radiation, and the high speed of sand particles, these advantages made the people on Earth would love to have in order to survive on Earth's Hostile conditions. as sustaining this type of modification on the cellular level is becoming cheaper and cheaper, making it available to the general public.

Just 2 years after the unveiling of the martian genome, Mars had reached its first million inhabitants. Over 200,000 Martian descendants were born on Mars. As the human population grew and dispersed, Genetic engineering shifted most of its focus to civilians already living on Mars. Among several other reasons, the power of nationalism, cultural pride, and ethnic pride Is making the demand for genetic engineering decline on Earth. Another factor Affecting this trend was the commercial distribution of the Scipio Suit" designed to negate the harsh atmosphere of Earth's dying ecosystem, It quickly became the standard equipment for survival in the wastelands of Earth.

The Scipio project would eventually evolve into a variety of programs, each with its variants and upgrades, and its use is not limited on Earth but also for other space colonies as the standard for civilian protection and self-defense. Scipio suit's success could not nonetheless save Earth from its Inevitable demise. In light of technological breakthroughs by Capitol Atlas, some nations began pulling their citizens away from the influence of other C.O.R.E. corporations because of religious and cultural dogmas. Some Governments went as far as shutting off international transportation and entire economic markets to keep the peace.

The consequences Of this turn of events resulted in several civil wars and devastated the planet's infrastructure, and left millions starving in the wake of a failed system. Many were forced to flee their home planet, but most of the World's refugees were stranded for years to come and were left to fend for themselves. It was a time of great darkness when mankind sought to conquer the stars and colonize other worlds but failed to protect their homeworld. But with the development of more advanced technology on Mars, the long-term survival of mankind was guaranteed. With the effort of the remaining C.O.R.E. corporations. A new era of exploration and discovery has been ushered in. not only for survival but to thrive. Enabling a new generation of explorers, scientists, and other great minds to populate and conquer the solar system, both literally and in the cultural sense.

C.O.R.E. corporations acting as sponsors for expeditions, settlements, and tech programs found themselves at the center of a more significant and more diverse market than ever before, paving the way for their uncontested dominance over the economic sector. C.O.R.E. corporations have dominated the political economies since the start of human Martian colonization. Thus, making most of The Martian governing system a corporate republic. But The cataclysmic mismanagement of national government on Earth begets an unwavering distrust of any form of government larger than a city administration. Many, if not all hostilities between these cities are usually voiced in the economic sphere and not on the battlefield.

The exploration of the solar system continues to grow exponentially with each passing day. This period is known as the FTL (faster than light) era. As technology improves, humans are able to venture further from mars. This will lead to unprecedented advancements in space research and discovery.

By the year 2130, colonists were able to settle on Jupiter's Galilean moon Europa; the intense colonization efforts in Europa enabled the settlers to establish their first city by 2168A.D. Known as the City of Pallas. In the claustrophobic Europan colonization, underground gangs, syndicates, and criminal organizations thrived. They've since discovered a way to work freely within the cities. Thus, bypassing even the most dominant regimes in the 22nd century, an era when there are well over 16 billion people scattered across nearly ten worlds or colonies. And 6 more cities were established in Europa. The The second largest City in Europa, The City of Armada has long been a center of underground activity in Europa. Modern gangs and syndicates have taken advantage of the lawless frontier and its bustling underworld. They've managed to work freely in the most closed societies.

And with this unprecedented golden age came the further development of humanoid genotypes, The Sciman genome. engineered to withstand Europa's icy cold and extreme radiation from Jupiter, the Kamala genotype, the first genotype to implement transhuman respiration methods, and many more. Although the means to engineering human fetuses is strictly corporate property, some illegal groups have seen this technology exploited elsewhere, which has led to a whole Pack of issues among the lower classes. Specifically the illegal creation of several impromptu genotypes, of which there are too many to name. Unrestricted by the standards the C.O.R.E. corporations hold themselves to.

These genetically modified beings (G.M.B.s) enjoy incredible physical abilities that the general public would never dream of. Nonetheless, they make up only a small fraction of the underground World; although the technology used to create them is technically available to the public, many of them are kept in private laboratories. However, this illegal engineering is merely a symptom of a much larger problem. And, though mankind now lives in a technological and culturally advanced age, their societies are far from perfect. The collapse of Earth and the introduction of starship technology into the public sector aided the growth of piracy and smuggling.

Given the vastness of space, it is reasonable for corporations to assume their property will be subject to attack by interplanetary marauders. It's all too common for corporations to travel cargo out when they are in transit. An attack is almost inevitable once the shipment is far enough away from a larger, well-defended city. In this era of limited government and corporate hedge funds, nothing can be guaranteed. Therefore, this jurisdiction will generally rely either on a private armed militia or mercenary troops, depending on A city's economic state.

Despite society living in the shadow of Earth's failed predecessors, some groups and cults advocate a return to Earth And the barbaric ways of the prior century regimes. And while most people can't help but think fondly of their Earth brotherhood, the precedent set by the 21st century's petty quarrels and the 22nd century's feuding warlords was justification enough to abandon a world That had ruined mankind.

In this modern era, no public domain has been so frequently associated with tyranny as corporatism. Corporations have become more controlling and authoritarian over the past few decades, especially in the economic and political spheres. Only time will tell whether the economic sects descend into their primitive, more aggressive predecessors or continue to co-exist alongside mankind and other beings.

But for now, in Today's period of 2202, where religious warlords ravage the wastelands of Earth and corporate gods deliberate among the roaming bodies of the solar sphere, the human race finds itself the lesser of its many children that humanity has gained prosperity, although tenuously, achieved a hard-won rest, for who knows what wonders and dangers await beyond Earth and all her territories in the infinite expanse of the universe.
